efloW Interview

efloW

efloW is an upcoming hip hop artists hot off the release of his last project entitled “GOLDEN”… Today we have a chance to touch bases with him and get to know him better.

Where are you from?

Greensburg, LA USA

How long have you been making music?

I’ve been making music since 2013

How many songs /albums have you released to date?

To date, I have released a total of 6 projects. These include 4 solo mixtapes, 1 collaborative mixtape, and 1 EP. These projects total to roughly 70 songs.

Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?

My latest release “GOLDEN” was heavily inspired by the likes of Travis Scott and Kanye West. Planning began back in 2013 when Kanye West released Yeezus and I knew that I wanted to release a project with that vibe. In the end, I found a perfect mixture of sounds and was able to create a project that wasn’t explicitly Travis or Kanye, but a project that was undoubtedly mines with homage to the inspirations.

How have you ended up in the music industry?

I ended up in the music industry when I began studying my own brother and his career. He began to gain local exposure around 2008 and this is when I wanted to follow in his footsteps. It wasn’t until 2013 when I finally began pursuing my dream and releasing music, but at a young age the seed was already planted and the passion had taken root.

What do you think of the music industry in 2016?

I think the music industry is in an acceptable shape, meaning it could be better. I am honestly tired of seeing artists get hype off of radio singles and club anthems where most credit should be given to the producer. Don’t get me wrong, there are some awesomely talented artists the the game (e.g. Kendrick, Cole, etc.), but at the same time, the industry is overpopulated with drugged out rhymes and melodies which hold no true value in oue society.

Who do you think the most influential artist?

I would have to say the most influential artist, in my opinion, would be a toss up between Tupac, Nas, and Kanye (no particular order). All of these men can switch up their style in an instance while continuing to convey vivid stories in their music. They can grab your attention and take you and a journey into their lives and I feel that is very important in music

Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?

So far, I have collaborated with local artists and personal friends, the likes of these include V8, Fetti, Poetic Lamar, J.Quick, Drea and a few others.

How do you think you differ from other artists?

I think I differ from other artists because I can spread positivity in my music, tell stories of my personal struggle, switch up my flow, and still grab your attention with one song (laughs). But seriously, I’ve grown to try and bring diversity to every song I release, hence my previous project ‘ENIGMA’. I don’t like people to be able to calculate my next move, I like my supporters to be in shock at the new material I bring to the plate.

Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?

My dream collaboration would have to be between J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar respectively. These men are leading the new school of music and it would be fantastic to trade bars with them and prove my worth to the industry. Can you guys make that happen? (laughs)

What is your favorite saying?

My favorite saying is “Awesome is Possible”. This saying keeps me motivated to always excel for greatness because my only limits are the ones that I allow to be placed in front of me. No man can deny greatness so I live by saying awesome is possible.

Do you have any tattoos or piercings?

I have a total of 4 tattoos, these include a tribute to my aunt who lost a battle with cancer, my independent label’s logo on my ribs, my saying “awesome is possible” on my chest, and a star on my arm. There are many more to come though.

Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?

My next project is being kept under wraps but I want my supporters to know that it will be bigger than anything I have ever released and it will be a staple for efloW Musil and WPGM all together.

What’s in the pipeline after this project?

After this next project I plan to continue working towards my goal and spread my name, one fan at a time.

Thank you for your time and may you carry on making great, fresh music.

No, thank you for giving me an outlet
